Yay! The 8th Alaune Festival is coming!

It will be a weekend full of art and movement with amazing circus and theatre, dance and music, sharing joy and many beautiful moments that we will create together. Everyone celebrates together, and everyone helps (with cooking, cleaning, organizing…). This creates connection and allows the boundaries between audience, artists, crew, and organizers to blur—creating an open, warm atmosphere that we believe in.

Spinnlein, Spinnlein an der Wand

The sheep, the cat, the pig, the fish, the rat and the bird are all up to something.
Eating grass, bathing in the mud, climbing trees or other important things.

The little spider is also up to something: She’s spinning. Because that’s what she does best. She spins and dreams of delicious flies.

3 players weave characters, narrative, live music and fate into a little story about not letting yourself be distracted, about peace of mind and sticking with it, about the silken thread of patience and the noisy world.

Created and performed by: Pauline Drünert (character design and performance), Etta Streicher (script and performance), Katharina von Klitzing (music), Ilka Schönbein (director), duration: approx. 45 mins.

A gangly English idiot and an athlete from Kyrgyzstan create the world of wonder that is Barada Street. A thrilling comedy, jam packed with acrobatics, live music and cheeky idiocy. This award winning international duo charm audiences and bring heart-warming intimacy to the street and stage.

interr_options – Eva Krause

The slightest stumble – and everything can change.

The Physical Theater Solo interr_options is a performance of rhythmic play without words. A headstrong character discovers the most banal and wild timbres. With a subtle mischief, the audience is invited to breathe a sigh of relief and discover the possibilities that open up when motion is interrupted. A piece with body percussion, dance and slapstick, for all ages.

“Now what?” – Nikos Wölfl und Francesco Procopio

“Now what?” is the simple and normal story about how simple and normal lives of simple and normal people cease to be simple and normal when they realize they have to leave home.
A comedic drama about emotional connections to the places and people of everyday life.
Performed with half masks, in a mixture of English and German by Nikos Wölfl and Francesco Procopio. Co-directed by the two players and Matteo Destro.

Yours ever so sincerely Lady Ostrich will do what ever pleases her at the minute, no chance to plan anything but glasses of water because OH it will be hot.
Await to free your heads from that sandy holiday you’ve almost already gone to and sit up straight for some seriously silly shit.
if you don’t speak English, not to worry, she will show off her German – but be prepared for some really flat puns, love.

Deutsch! aha! natürlich. Na was soll ich sagen, love. Ich bin ein Strauß, eine Sträußin, ich kann laufen und sprechen gleichzeitig, das hat die Leute immer total um. sonst sehen wir alles, wenn wir…uns sehen? About the Festival & GutAlaune

About us and how it all started

Gut Alaune is a collective project that has been growing since late 2015 and is now a space for realizing creative dreams.

The first festivals were initiated by Richard and “From The Playns.” From The Playns is a platform for Richard’s artistic work, workshops, and events – more at: www.fromtheplayns.com/about

Food

Food is included in the ticket price. Everyone eats vegetarian and vegan meals. A kitchen team coordinates food preparation, and if you’re assigned to food shifts, you’ll help with cooking, serving, or cleaning.

Accommodation

Camping is the accommodation. Bring a tent or hammock and enjoy the natural surroundings. There is a community-circus-tent as well. For vans there is just limited space (organized over ticket-booking).

Accessibility & Inclusion

We want to make the festival more inclusive and accessible. Let us know your needs and ideas. We’re already working on things like a quiet room, ramp access to the main areas, and barrier-free toilets.

Where is GutAlaune?

In Halle (Saale), on the banks of the river Saale. You can reach us by tram, bike, or even swim over! ;) Full directions will be sent with your ticket confirmation.
