Are we losing the relation to the food we are consuming and the world we are living in? When we dig our hands in the loose earth, when we watch bees flying around doing their work, we may find an answer to this question. Through gardening we get in touch with the rhythm of the seasons and all the little miracles which are happening from planting the seed up to the harvest, from the flower until we can fill a jar with fresh honey.
But that’s not all! We also want to create with our garden and all its adult and children residents a place exchange and learning. We support and share techniques for ecological vegetable and fruit cultivation without pesticides, friendly and species appropriate beekeeping and distribution and exchange from old and regional seeds.
In the north-eastern part of our land grows a little food forest with the help of many brains and hands. There is a growing group meeting irregularly for little work-actions in the garden to push the project bit by bit. Another project we started in 2021 is the solidary juice street wich is all about self made juice from local (abandonned) fruit.
Since beginning of 2023, the youth work collective JutAlaune, cooperating with the city of Halle, sets up a Community Garden Project in Halle Trotha! It is a open space (ca. 3000m² with beautiful trees) where there is a lot of space for dreams and ideas. Together with the peope that live nearby the area, we want to build up a beautiful space for gardening and cultural exchange.
